Good-bye Summer!
The temperature has literally dropped like 40 degrees since Saturday. It's a beautiful 58 F outside right now. It's the first morning I've had to actually put on a sweatshirt to walk around the house. And it feels amazing!
I'm still dreading going back to work after a nice and relaxing long weekend, but the bills gots to be paid, right?! Anyway, in honor of letting summer go, I'm leaving you with a bowl of summer. Because from here on out, the food is gonna get "comfy" and hearty... just like fall intended it to be!
No real recipe here. Just combine your favorite fruits of summer (in my case, just simply green grapes and chunks of watermelon), and get your snack on!
I'll be back tomorrow with something less-lazy... I promise!
Have a great week; fresh looking salad.
ReplyDeleteRita
i do love to drizzle a little bit on honey and maybe even a bit of feta on my fruit salads - oh and a bit of mint never hurt anyone :)
ReplyDeleteso ready for fall!!
ReplyDeleteRefreshing salad
ReplyDeleteYummy fruit! I am looking forward to fall, but will miss all the fresh fruit!
ReplyDeletePeggy, nice snack!
ReplyDeleteHope you are having a great week :-)
We've got the same weather, Peggy...and if you get any rain, can you send it north???? I love having a bowl of chopped fruit in the fridge. Yours would not last long around here :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely post! I will miss summer more than you can imagine, but I guess I can live with fall.... :o)
ReplyDeleteyummy grapes and watermelon sad summer has left too quick it is so cold
ReplyDeleteNice, isn't it?? I love the fall...but will miss this fresh watermelon.
ReplyDeleteI have hard time saying bye to the summer..here too temperature dropped drastically and with rain over 3 days I feel I want to sleep all day long:)
ReplyDeleteYour fruit salad put smile on my face..so bright and beautiful!!!
I'm ready for cooler temperatures, but I'm not sure I'm ready for the shorter days that fall brings. I'll just need to make a big bowl of fresh fruit like yours to brighten things up.
ReplyDeleteAw, although I prefer cool/cold weather, I am sad to see summer coming to a close. Great fruit dish!
ReplyDeleteYep, summer is over....we got 24 hours of rain and then the temp dropped to really chilly.
ReplyDeleteHave to hang on to the last thread of summer, and fruit is a good way to do it!
summer is not over here yet. we desperately need some rain.
ReplyDeleteLovely bowl of fruits and the grapes are my fav.
ReplyDeleteVery refreshing salad. Don't be sad... yes, we had to place all the grilling tools back in the shed but it's fig season now. So there's always a silver lining :P
ReplyDeleteI am currenty totally summer fruit obsessed, so "lazy" posting is fiiiine by me. These pics are gorgeous - I'll totally pull this one back up in the depths of winter to ogle...
ReplyDeleteThe watermelon and grapes look so pretty together! Such beautiful colours! I'm already missing blueberries and peaches...but apples are right around the corner!
ReplyDeleteGreat to see summer's going away. Sadly, summer is like a loyal friend here in S'pore.... stays by u everyday without fail :<
ReplyDeleteThese fresh fruits are sooooooo refreshing!
Yum - nothing like summer fruits! I wish I could say the temperature has dropped where I am but in Israel it's still in the 90s! Funny though, I still start to crave comforting fall foods around this time of year even in the heat! Years of programming...
ReplyDeleteHuh. We've been having 58-65F weather this summer and finally close to 80F here. Thank god, this is the 2nd summer week we have. So we can still enjoy your delicious summer fruits!
ReplyDeleteSeems like summer was absent this year in more places then only in Holland. We only noticed spring (very hot spring) and summer barely got through and now it’s already fall. At least I’ve got my fresh fruit fix this year. Love your very deep red watermelon!
ReplyDeletestunning colours! your fruit salad looks so fresh and vivid!
ReplyDeleteand yeah, temperature drop here in germany as well. and rain. fall really is coming fast!
