CSA Week #6

Check out what we got in our CSA this week!

  •  Fennel
  • Broccoli
  • Garlic Scapes
  • Kale
  • Head Lettuce
  • Chard
  • Turnips
  • Cabbage
  • Collards
  • Cauliflower
 They definitely loaded us up this week! 

I just love fennel!  I used to dislike it... but then I had it the right way =)

Can't wait to roast these turnips!

And Mindy over at The World In My Kitchen was the only person to turn in her CSA this week - thanks again Mindy!
Mindy got Salad Greens, Carrots, Red Leaf Lettuce, Red Butterhead Lettuce, a Jade Cucumber, Hakauri Salad Turnips, Oregano, & Snow Peas - Looks great Mindy!

  1. Hey there! I lurve your veggie pics. :-D. As one "used to be fennel hater" to another, have you ever tried roasted fennel? I LOVE it. I usually roast fennel, onions and bell peppers (or whatever else I have in the fridge) at 425 till they start to caramelize. Then, I toss them + roasting juices with pasta (or rice, or quinoa) and italian sausage (or not). Sooo delicious. (I just found your blog, and have been reading through it, so my apologies if I missed a simialr recipe!)

    What is your favorite turnip recipe?? I just got some in my CSA box and I'm clueless! I also got strawberries, honeydew melon, green cabbage, sweet peppers, and nantes carrots.

    I just found out what CSA was, after googling it... It seems that we don't have a place nearby, so I'm going to check out the farmer's market, once the weather gets getter.

  4. I love fennel too! It's great in salads or stir-fries. Got some veggies and fruit from the farmer market yesterday too.

  5. I never used fennel bulb until I made Bouillabaisse. It is tasty and I'd love to know what else I can use for!

  8. It's only recently that I have started using fennel bulb in my kitchen. I still remember first thing that I used these bulbs was in my soup.

  10. sad to say its difficult to find fennel at Malaysia although the rest of the veg is pretty to get.
